I recently read the story of Zach Sobiech who passed away yesterday after a long and difficult battle with a rare form of cancer. Zach turned to music after learning of his cancer and wrote a beautiful song called "Clouds" – It went viral, they made a video – tears were shed.. but the story became bigger than that because the story IS bigger than that.
The story in and of itself is touching – It can bring tears to a grown mans eyes – It is a story of LIVING not of dying.
There is value in this to everyone, not just those who are sick or those who are terminal.
We are all terminal – We are all going to die – Some of us know when, or how long we have left – most of us do not. We should live like we are living…. No check that – We NEED to live like we are living.
My friend Joe and I always crack a joke before we are about to do something ridiculous…
"Ya gotta live while yer living!" We say - Then we laugh really loud – and we live life to it’s fullest enjoyment.
Zach did that – His family did that – His girlfriend did that. I hope they keep doing it.
Give me 20 minutes of your time – Watch this video:
Then do me a favor…
Live a little higher – Hike a little further – run a little faster – Laugh a little louder – Love a little harder – Complain a little less – Be happy , smile a little wider.
"And we’ll go up, up, up
But I’ll fly a little higher
We’ll go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer"
Rest In Peace – Zach – Here’s to living while yer livin!!!
