  • Two women were arrested June 15 after they allegedly stole over $1,400 in merchandise from the local Walmart.
    Jessica F. Murray, 29, of Macedon, and Danielle M. Golding, 28, of Rochester, were arrested by Macedon police after Murray allegedly entered the Walmart store in Macedon and concealed $1,486 worth of merchandise inside recyclable shopping bags and allegedly left the store without paying for the items, police said. Later that evening, the vehicle that Murray left in was stopped by the New York state police. Murray and Golding were the passengers in the vehicle. An investigation revealed that Murray and Golding had allegedly been stealing from Walmart stores, Target stores and other retail establishments. Murray and Golding allegedly confessed to stealing from Walmart in Macedon and all merchandise taken was recovered in the vehicle.
    Murray was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and seventh--degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Golding was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, fifth-degree conspiracy, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. They were each arraigned in Macedon Town Court and sent to the Wayne County Jail on $5,000 cash bail
    The investigation is on-going and more charges may be pending. it is alleged that the two have committed the same crimes in Ontario County, as well as Monroe County.
