The Panthers get a complete game performance from sophomore hurler Dom Mosso, who also contributed two doubles and two RBI against the host Knights.

A wild first inning then settled down into an exciting finish on Wednesday afternoon as Gananda held off Marion, 7-5, in Wayne County League action on senior day for the Knights.

The Panthers pushed across three runs in the top of the first inning, however the Knights responded with four runs in their half of the frame.

Gananda regained the lead with a pair of runs in the third, and extended margin to three runs with two more in the fifth.

Marion got one run back in the sixth, but left the bases loaded when Panther pitcher Dom Mosso escaped with a 3-0 count grounder to second baseman Zach Allen for the final out.

In the seventh, the Knights once again put the tying runs on base when Panther reliever Chris Fah-Montes walked two Marion batters with two out. However, another grounder to Allen ended the game.

Marion finished its regular season with a 7-9, while Gananda ia 8-11 with one game remaining as sectional play begins on Monday.
