The purpose of the Federation is to provide mutual assistance and cooperation for its member locals in order to exchange information, support each other’s needs, and promote programs in support of public education in Wayne County.

The Wayne County Educators Federation was formed at the Wayne County NYSUT Presidents' meeting on Feb. 16.

The purpose of the Federation is to provide mutual assistance and cooperation for its member locals in order to exchange information, support each other’s needs, and promote programs in support of public education in Wayne County.

The WCEF is comprised of 16 NYSUT locals or chapters, with a total membership of approximately 2,750.

The member locals represent teachers, support, and professional staff in Wayne County schools.

The WCEF will meet at regularly scheduled Wayne County NYSUT Presidents' meeting. The Federation selected officers to serve as interim officers until elections takes place later in the school year.

The interim WCEF officers are: President Jason Carter, who is President of the Wayne Teachers' Association; Vice President Pam Modzel, who is President of the WFL BOCES Educators' Association; and Secretary Mike Herlan, who is President of the Marion Teachers' Association.
