  • The 'Erie Fiddlers', a group of 12 musicians who play a variety of old time fiddle music on fiddles, mandolins, banjos and guitars, is scheduled to perform at St. Michael's Family Festival on Saturday, June 8, at 6 p.m.
The group came together over seven years ago when several players became interested in forming a club.  Mary Smith, local string music teacher, agreed to direct the group and, since that time, it has made appearances at festivals, parades and events in various locations throughout Wayne and Ontario County.
The Family Festival, which will be held on both June 7 and 8, will also have Jim Dorn playing the guitar and singing on Friday night, along with amusement rides, games of skill, a variety of food booths, and the cake wheel!
J&J Event Productions will have several vendors displaying a wide variety of crafts and wares and will be running a Chinese Auction to add to the fun.
'Elks Fest' events including food, refreshments and bands 'Damdog' and 'The Movers' will add to the Newark activities. Don't miss the French Toast Breakfast and 5K Race sponsored by the Red Cross. For additional information regarding the Elks call 331-1249 and for details on the 5K and breakfast, call 331-3783.
Continue the fun at the Fireman's Field on Barker Parkway off Westshore Boulevard where there will be more vendors, food, and games.
