  • It was a rainy and foggy day, a great day to experience life during the Civil War.
East Palmyra Christian School students participated in enlistment exercises and marching drills as the middle and high school sections of EPCS traveled to Genesee Country Village (GCV) to spend the day.
As well, the students and their chaperones witnessed the loading and firing of Civil War era muskets, were part of the creation of hydrogen used to fill surveillance balloons, walked through army barracks, listened to Civil War era fife and drum corps, and visited village homes and shops.
Genesee Country Village sponsored the Civil War Days and the event was attended by a host of middle and high school students from all over western New York State.
East Palmyra Christian School is located in the hamlet of East Palmyra and has served western Wayne County with quality Christian education since 1947.
