Bills, Heather Lyn
PALMYRA — Heather Lyn Bills, 29, of Palmyra, entered into Heaven on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 after a courageous and challenging 10-year battle with cancer.
Heather was born Nov. 18, 1982, daughter of Arthur and Lori Bills. Heather was a 2001 graduate of Pal-Mac and after several years of treatment, continued her education at FLCC where she graduated High Honor Phi Theta Kappa in 2009.
Heather was a very generous, loving, giving and inspiring person and unknowingly touched many lives. She greatly appreciated the support of the Palmyra community. Heather’s sense of humor and faith in God carried her through her long and sometimes difficult journey.
She is survived by her parents; sister, Darcie Bills; half-sisters, Kimberly Fanning, Kelly Bills; special aunt, Colleen; and cousin, Corin. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones; faithful companions, Oliver, Chester and Stewie.
Predeceased by paternal grandparents, Arthur Sr. and Shirley Bills ;and maternal grandparents, Hugh and Jeanne Williams; and half-sister, Melanie Bills.
A memorial service will be held at the Palmyra First Baptist Church, 100 W. Main St., Palmyra, on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. There will be no prior calling hours.

Burt, Kenneth Merton
CLYDE — Kenneth Merton Burt, 66, of East Dezeng Street, passed away surrounded by his family Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012.
Friends called Monday, Oct. 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pusateri-Canolesio Funeral Home, 68 Sodus Street in Clyde. A Funeral Mass was Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph The Worker (St. Johns Church) Sodus Street in Clyde. Entombment St. Johns Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made to the Clyde Ambulance, Ford Street, Clyde or Lyons Ambulance, 43 Phelps Street, Lyons.
Ken was born in Lyons, June 4, 1946, the son of Merton and Bessie Hart Burt. Ken graduated from Clyde High School in 1964. He worked for Seneca Falls Machine Company for 27 years and Pearl Technologies in Savannah. Ken loved playing cards with "The Boys", NASCAR Racing and visiting with friends at Donselaars party house on Thursday night. He liked Vegas and poker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Frances (Garofono) Burt; son, Kenneth Michael (Jamie) Burt of Endwell; daughter, Renae (Edward) Lawson of Savannah; four granddaughters, Katelynn and Ashley Lawson, Kendra and Cassandra Burt; sister, Catherine (William) Moulton of Clyde; brothers, Richard (Barbara) and Larry Burt of Oregon; in-laws, William (Gloria) Garofono of Clyde, Bob (Pam) Garofono of Dexter; mother-in-law, Annie Garofono; nieces, Billie Jo Hodlin and Tiffany Garofono; nephews, Rick (Wendy) Burt and William Garafono III.

Conklin, Anna C.
NEWARK — Anna C. Conklin, 87, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
Friends called 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian burial was at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13 at St. Michael’s Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Phelps.
Mrs. Conklin was born Sept. 23, 1925 in Newark the daughter of Peter and Mary Parisi Buragina. Ann worked at Montgomery-Wards where she met her husband. She was a life-resident of Newark and communicant of St. Michael’s Church.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carl A., Sr.; a son, Carl A. Jr. of Rochester; a daughter, Karen (Brian) DesCamp of Phelps; three grandchildren, Adam, Ben and Emily DesCamp; two sisters, Angeline (John) Yaniri and Jeanette (Paul) Staples both of Newark; several nieces and nephews.  
Anna was predeceased by her parents; a brother, James Buragina; and a sister, Portia Paone.

Couturier, Gerard (Jerry) J., Sr.
LYONS — Gerard (Jerry) J. Couturier, Sr., 74, of Franklin St., died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at Newark Wayne Hospital.
Friends called Saturday, Oct. 20 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Boeheim-Pusateri Funeral Home, 77 William St., Lyons. A graveside service was held Sunday at 1 p.m. at South Lyons Cemetery.

Jerry was born in Gulftowne, New Hampshire, July 20, 1938, son of Leonill and Malvina Manseau Couturier. He was a mechanic and operated Jerry's Garage in Lyons since 1968. In his earlier years he worked at Macs Body Shop. He was a member of the Lyons Fire Dept. and fire police. He served as dog warden for the village of Lyons. He also delivered the Finger Lakes Times.
Survived by his wife of 50 years, Diana Sayre Couturier; daughter, Julie (Albert) Downey of Lyons; sons, Gerard, Jr. (Whitney Ortiz) and Joe (Penny) of Lyons; brother, Victor of Auburn; 10 grandchildren, Michael, Jerard III, Keriann, Joe, Patrick, Mickey, Brandon, Justin, Morgan, Kaitlyn; 13 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his brother, Dennis of N.C.

DeCann, Robert P.
SCHENECTADY — Age 59, died suddenly at his home Friday, Oct. 12, 2012.
Bob was born Nov. 23,1952 in Clifton Springs, but grew up in Newark and graduated from Newark High School in 1972. Bob worked in sales for many business. He was an avid fisherman and loved his NY Yankees and playing cards.
Preceased by his parents, Robert and Paula Burditt DeCann; and a stepsister, Carol Colarocco vonWiegen. Bob is surivied by his two sons, RJand  Nicholas P. DeCann of Schenectady; stepmother, Lucy M DeCann of Newark; a sister, Bonnie DeCann (Ernie Navarro) of Newark; a brother, Frederick J. DeCann of Kauai, Hawaii; stepsisters, Marie LaBombard of Palmyra, Kathy Colarocco (Dave) Shlesselman of Newark, Nancy Colarocco Lee of Newark; and a stepbrother, David of Flordia; and his aunt, Eleanor Vermeulen of Newark; as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins and good friends.
Bob was laid to rest on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 in St. John’s Cemetary in Scenectady.

NEWARK — Barbara J. DeCook, 85, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at DeMay Living Center.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. at Schulz-Pusateri Funeral Home, 103 Maple Ct., Newark. Burial in East Newark Cemetery.

Barb was born in Phelps, Dec. 13, 1926, daughter of William and Reva Fitch Steinruck. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survived by two sons, Kenneth DeCook of Calif. and William (Janine) of Newark; two daughters, Corky (Jim) DeLeo of Newark and Barbara (Leland) West of Las Vegas; brother, Morris Steinruck of Newark; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.

Duste, Evelyn I.
WALWORTH — Age 91, died on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
Evelyn was born on July 25, 1921 in Newark, the oldest daughter of Cornelius and Amy Boeye. She was a graduate of Marion Central School, married to Ervin Duste where they lived in Walworth. She worked at Garlock and as a Nursing Aide for Wayne County.
Evelyn leaves her three daughters, Mary (Larry) Decker of Marion, Betty (Alan) Verdine of Marion, and Linda (Edmond) Spencer of Hilton; grandchildren, Jenny (Rob) Ament, Jeffrey (Katie) Decker, Dan (Kim) Verdine, David Verdine (Roberta Pellett), Sarah, Scott and Amanda Spencer; great-grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, and Mylah Ament, Avery Verdine, Gracie and Clayton Decker; brother, Cornelius (Shirley) Boeye, Sister Laura (Art) Tierson; brother-in-law, Jack Manktelow; and nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her grandson, Eric Verdine; husband, Ervin Duste; and sister, Ruby Manktelow.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the care-givers at the Wayne County Nursing Home for the loving care they gave to Evelyn.

Juckema, Nicolaas Cornelius
NEWARK — Nicolaas Cornelius Juckema, 93, died on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012.
Survived by son, John (Kathy) of Pittsford; two daughters, Aafke (Jerry) Saunders of Seneca Castle and Anna Marie Juckema of Newark; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Predeceased by wife, Grace, in 1984; and eight siblings.
He worked in manitenance at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital for 5 years.
Friends called on Tuesday, Oct. 23 from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at Schulz-Pusateri Funeral Home, 103 Maple Court, Newark. Graveside service was at 2:30 p.m. at Newark Cemetery.

Kimble, Deborah (Pelis)
VICTOR/CANANDAIGUA — Loving wife, mother, nana, Deborah (Pelis) Kimble, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at home, with her family by her side, after a four-year, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Russ Kimble; devoted daughter, Kim (Steve) Sandic of Farmington; granddaughter and the “light of her life” for the last four years, Elana Sandic;  many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and dear friends; and extended family at Canandaigua Primary School.
Debbie was born in Clifton Springs and was the daughter of Delmar and Mary (Stubblebine) Pelis. She attended Canandaigua schools and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1969. After attending Wayne Business School, she worked as a medical secretary at Clifton Springs Hospital and later at the Daily Messenger in Canandaigua. Debbie’s greatest joy, was her 20-plus years at Canandaigua Primary School, working with special needs children. She was energetic, enthusiastic and loved caring for others, including her family. Debbie enjoyed traveling, gardening, Canandaigua Lake and, most of all, spending time with her family.
The Kimble family wishes to thank her dedicated doctors, nurses and friends for their support and making her last days on earth pain-free.
Please remember what Debbie would always say, “life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”

CLYDE — Our little angel was called to our Lord, and Heaven's gain was our loss when our little angel came into the world too soon, and was taken too soon Brielynn Masterangelo, newborn daughter of Timothy Anderson and Amber Mastrangelo died unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 during birth at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
At the family's request there were no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. at the Christ
Community Church with Rev. Dana officiating.

Arlene was born on Aug. 14, 1921 in Williamson to Harrison and Hazel Eaton. She was predeceased by her husband, Theron E. Scharles. Survived by her daughters, Bonnie Scharles and Gloria Casselman; grandchildren, Kristi (Richard) Mack and Kelli Casselman; great-grandchildren, Amanda and Jacob Steurrys, Kirsten McCauley, Evan and Jenna Beck, Doug Webber, Shirley Retz and Heather Mack; great-great-grandchildren, Carter Canale and Addison Steurrys; brother, Karl (Betty) Eaton; sister, Donna (Kenneth) VanDeWalle.

Schenk, George Byron
ONTARIO — George was called home on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 to be at peace with the Lord after a courageous battle with a long illness.
Predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Elizabeth Schenk, and James and Mary McBride. Survived by the love of his life of 48 years, Sandee; two sons, Gordon (Leslie), Randy (Jamie) Schenk; eight grandchildren, Megan, Benjamin, Liam, John, Nicholas, Jameson, Courtney and Brody Schenk; sister, Roberta Douglas; three brothers, Gordon, William (Joan) and John (Janice) Schenk.
George had a career working with computers, and assisted Sandee with her daycare facility, as he shared her love for children. George especially enjoyed his time at the beach with his family during summer vacations.

Survived by two sons, William (Linda) of Newark, James of Rochester; daughter, Nancy (Michael) Jackson of Va.; three grandchildren, Torrey Stopfel, Tonya and Matthew Zugg; sister-in-law, Jerry Brink; nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
All three children had service connections; William and Nancy - Navy, Jim - Army, husband Ken - Army.

NEWARK — William M. Teeter, 62 entered eternity after a short illness at Rochester General Hospital on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012.

PALMYRA — Waite, Lawrence, K. died on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at the age of 84.

Larry was born on Aug. 25, 1928 in Chesterfield, N.Y. to George and Ida LaRose Waite. He was a member of Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 6778 and the James R. Hickey American Legion Post 120. The funeral home proudly flies the United States Army and Navy flags in honor of Larry’s service to our country during WWII.
Larry is survived by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Debra Waite; sons, Douglas and Dwayne Waite; sister, Mary LaComb; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Robert and Sherman Waite.
