A long time coming, the sign in front of Wayne Arts will help make the organization more recognizable and brought about their new logo.

In addition to the new signage/logo, Wayne Arts has a brand new website at www.wayne-arts.com. Find information on all upcoming exhibits, children and adult classes and special events planned for 2011. Forms are also available to sign up for classes, membership, special events and gallery store consignment information.

From early March through December 2011, Wayne Arts will host month-long exhibitions of art in the Main Gallery created by both known and up-and-coming local artists. Members will be exhibiting their art in the Members Gallery.

The first “Day with the Arts” was such a big success a second one will be held on July 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local artists will again demonstrate their skills and show how they create their art. We will also have entertainment, food and some surprises for everyone.

A section of the art gallery is also home to an art gift shop, where unique, handmade pieces of art, created by talented Wayne County artists, are offered for sale. Gift certificates are available for art items and classes.

Wayne Arts is operated and administered by a core of hardworking volunteers. As a small, non-profit organization, they are continually in need of support in many different ways from members, friends within the community, businesses, charitable foundations and government to support and maintain our programs. Support for Wayne County Council for the Arts helps to further the arts, artists and the community.

Wayne Art Gallery hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. and by appointment. Wayne County Council for the Arts is located at 108 W. Miller St. in Newark. For more information, call 331-4593, email info@wayne-arts.com or visit the website.
