Sodus fruit farmer Adam Debadts was recently elected to serve on the Wayne County Farm Bureau’s board of directors at the bureau’s annual meeting Oct. 23 at the Wallington Fire Hall in Wallington.

Sodus fruit farmer Adam Debadts was recently elected to serve on the Wayne County Farm Bureau’s board of directors at the bureau’s annual meeting Oct. 23 at the Wallington Fire Hall in Wallington.

One of the key components of the annual meeting is to adopt local Farm Bureau policy and to forward those resolutions on to the upcoming state and national Farm Bureau conventions for consideration.

Resolutions were passed concerning topics such as immigration labor; agricultural promotion and education; property tax laws; environmental issues; and issues affecting the dairy industry and animal care standards. 

The resolutions will be submitted to the sate annual meeting delegates in Melville Long Island this week and will help determine the legislative efforts of bureau in the year to come.
