We have a library near each town school and libraries in the schools, and I am amazed that anyone thinks that we need another library or a replacement.
Apparently no one sent any letters that agreed with Mr. Barone (May 30 letter). I am sending this letter in agreement with him.
The letters (June 6) did a lot of mudslinging at Mr. Barone.
I voted NO on the library. We have a library near each town school and libraries in the schools, and I am amazed that anyone thinks that we need another library or a replacement.
I grew up in this town, my children grew up here, and I have grandchildren that are being raised in this town. That means that I am a grandmother and retired. I use BOTH libraries. I have gone to both libraries in the daytime and at night. I have always found books I can read. I have NEVER found either of them overcrowded or not have enough books to read.
I have also lived in Penfield and Fairport; they have bigger libraries but the book selection is no different that our libraries.
I have looked at the Town Hall area and have no idea where this new library will be placed. Does anyone know? It is hard to believe that a large building can fit on the grounds. Lastly, I think my taxes are high enough and really do NOT want to pay for a new building in place of what we already have that is just fine.
