  • Newark sophomore selected as county fair queen

  • Ciera Lancaster, a 15 year old sophomore was chosen as the 2013 Wayne County Fair Queen. She is the daughter of David Lancaster Jr. and resides with her grandparents Shirley and David Lancaster Sr. of Newark. Ciera competed among contestants ages 16 to 18 for her title. Ciera is class president and a member of the varsity swim team. She enjoys dancing and running as well as playing piano and the flute.

    First Runner Up honors went to Angela Lyke of Marion. Angela is a 17 year old junior at Marion High School and the daughter of Jason and Shari Lyke. Eighteen-year-old Mila Koziarska of Palmyra was named second runner up. Mila attends Palmyra Macedon High School as a Rotary Exchange Student from Poland. Her host parents are Mark and Kim Henning of Palmyra. Nicole Dillon, 18, of Newark was named third runner up. She is a senior at Newark High School and is the daughter of Sandy Dillon of Newark and Dave Dillon of Williamson.
    Fifteen-year-old Bailey Cole of Palmyra was crowned the 2013 Wayne County Fair Princess. Bailey is in the 9th grade at Palmyra-Macedon High School and the daughter of Clayton and Christine Cole.  Bailey competed with contestants ages 13 to 15 for the title. Bailey is a member of the varsity swim team, T.I.E.S, Improv Club, and her school’s musical.
    Fifteen-year-old Amy Burlee of Ontario was named first runner up. Amy is a freshman at Marion High School and the daughter of David and Diane Burlee of Ontario. Michelle Magee of Palmyra was named second runner up. Michelle is a 15 year old sophomore at Newark High School and the daughter of Casey and Kelly Magee. Third runner up honors went to Marion’s MaKayla Stappenbeck. MaKayla, 14 is in the 9th grade at Marion High School and is the daughter of Rebecca and Dale LaRock. Claire Donovan, 13, was voted Miss Congeniality by all the contestants. Claire is in the 8th grade at Williamson Middle School and is the daughter of Sabine and Rob Milby of Williamson and Bernie Donovan of Williamson.
