The Run for the Red 5K was held in conjunction with Newarkfest, and in addition to the race, the Red Cross held its third annual Raffle for Relief, which brought in $1,000. Prizes were awarded as follows:
The John Deere Lawn Tractor, which was donated by Lakeland Equipment, went to Sandy Hares of Newark.
The Weber 18” Smokey Mountain Cooker, which was donated by Secor Lumber, went to William Lathup of Newark.
The two Adirondack Chairs, which were donated by Plassche Lumber and Plywood, went to Nancy Schmall of Newark.

From the director
“Our 5K is a great way to support the Red Cross mission,” said James Love, executive director of the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross. “Not only does it raise money for disaster relief, but it also gets participants exercising and helps promote healthy habits.”
