Newark — Viola, Lola M., 81, died Thursday, April 25, 2013.

Calls were held from 4 to 7 p.m. April 29 at Schulz Pusateri Funeral Home, 103 Maple Court, Newark. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. April 30 at the funeral home. Burial in Newark Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to charities of choice.

Lola was born June 12, 1931, in Newark, the daughter of Peter and Marie Schuman Bouwens. She worked at C.H. Stuart, Scofield Diner, Newark Country, Pee Wee Lunch and Newark Manor. She had a great interest in Rose Garden Affairs, doing reporting for the paper and keeping track of people. She loved to play cards and bingo.

She is survived by her twin sister, Laura (Ted) Sekulic, of Newark; sisters in law, Betty Barberi Viola, Betty Derr Viola, France Viola Curtis, Gloria Viola, Barbara DiPillo; brothers-in-law Tom and Anthony Viola; many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends Margaret Greco, Jerry Boyd, Barb and Jim Rugenstein, and good friend Chuck.

Predeceased by husband, Frank (2005); son, Paul (1972); sisters Pauline, Mabel and Jerry; brothers Oliver, Carl, Frank and Peter; and brothers-in-law Frank, Don and Bill Viola.
