LYONS — Saturday, Oct. 19 is the date and Lyons is the place. Celebrate the fall harvest with us at the 5th Annual PumpkinPalooza. A family-fun event with a variety of food, games for the kids, craft vendors and Rat Rods on display. There will the popular Zombie Walk, Haunted House presented by Terror Fields, Antique Show and a Chili Cook-off. Something for the entire family.
PumpkinPalooza 2013 is sure to bring a fun time for all. Get a favorite costume ready for the costume parade then visit the variety of craft vendors displaying wares from pet accessories, beanie babies, jewelry, embroidered items and much more. There will be pumpkin pie tasting, a large variety of food vendors, specialty local foods and new this year a Chili Cook-off. An Antique Show will be held in the former Trombino’s Restaurant where you will find the famous Mac & Cheese and Pumpkin Soup.
A 5k race sponsored by the Lyons Community Center at 9 am. The Village Square activities will open at 11 a.m. with the costume parade at noon. Music and entertainment will be throughout the day. A variety of kids’ games will be ongoing during the afternoon with activities such as pumpkin seed spitting, scary scream contest and much more. The now famous Pearl Street Pumpkin Roll will be at 5 p.m. the Zombie Walk at 6 p.m. ending at the newest event presented by Terror Fields, The Haunted House at the former Lyons Community Center. The Lantern Launch at the Community Center ends the day of fun.
