WALWORTH — The Community Relations Committee of the Gananda Board of Education invites the community to engage with committee members at its second in a series of Open Forums on Wednesday, Dec. 11. This is an opportunity for Gananda residents to sit down with their board members and discuss school-related issues important to them in a casual setting.
“We’re very pleased at the number of community members that attended our first Open Forum in November; parents of students district wide who are active in a variety of programs made for great conversation,” says Lisa Finnegan, President of the Gananda Board of Education. “It’s obvious we have a supportive, yet very concerned community who is looking to help continue Gananda’s long-term mission. Several community members left the meeting with an action plan!”
In this meeting, board members will be on-hand to discuss budget-related topics including the cost of arts, athletics, and Physical Education programming. They also plan to share their take-aways from a recent due diligence presentation on the district merger process. Interested participants may additionally submit their own questions for the Board’s consideration in advance to Leslie Ferrante, District Clerk, at lferrante@gananda.org.
“We are looking forward to our December forum and hope to see an even greater turnout – all community members are welcome to attend,” says Mrs. Finnegan.
The Open Forum will begin at 7 p.m. in the Ruben A. Cirillo High School Library, 3195 Wiedrick Road, Walworth.
