On Saturday, February 22, from 2:00-3:00pm, Animal Rights Advocates of Upstate New York (ARAUNY) and its allies will hold a silent vigil to honor the many squirrels and squirrel families that will be murdered to raise money for the Town of Holley's Volunteer Fire Department. The annual "Squirrel Slam" and the protests against this wildlife killing contest have attracted media attention from local, national, and international press. It is ARAUNY's belief that such killing of sentient beings is morally wrong and biologically bankrupt. ARAUNY opposes all wildlife killing contests and all forms of fundrasing by death. ARAUNY will hold a press conference at 2:45pm.
