A young runner at the Special Olympics decided to choose friendship over competition.

Max and his best friend Marvin are from Victor. They were running in the 50 meter dash on Friday at Special Olympics at North-Rose Wolcott High School. When Max noticed Marvin was lagging in the race, he did something no one saw coming - he ran back and grabbed Marvin’s hand and they finished the race together.

Max has Fragile X Syndrome and Marvin is autistic and doesn't speak, but that has not stopped their friendship one bit!
