If you get a text from KeyBank urging you to call a number about an important notification, don’t do it.

Bank officials say several people have reported getting these kinds of messages recently. If you call the number it gives you, an automated message says a hold has been placed on your debit card and it instructs you to enter personal information.

This is a phishing scam.

If there is a problem with your account, KeyBank will not notify you via text or email.

If you have fallen victim to this scam and given any personal or account information, contact the KeyBank Fraud hotline at 1-800-433-0124.
