Alexis Perkins, of North Rose; Kaitlin Girard, of Ontario; Angie Shanders, of Walworth; and Richard Leous, of Wolcott, recently received scholarships to attend Alfred State. Girard and Perkins were accepted into the architecture program. Leous was accepted into the engineering science program. Shanders was accepted into the diagnostic medical sonography program.
Mary Melville, of Walworth, currently is completing an internship with Newport Montessori School in Newport, New Hampshire. Melville majors in child development at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire.
Rachel Vespucci, of Macedon, recently participated in a simulation with faculty and staff from Elmira Heights Central School District and Pro Action to understand what it is like to live in poverty. Elmira College students were assigned professional roles, and high school faculty and staff took on roles of those facing poverty. Participants were placed into scenarios that demonstrated the obstacles for a family or individual in poverty. Vespucci studies education.
Bethany Edwards, of Ontario, was named to the fall 2017 dean’s list at Ithaca College.
Jessica Coe, of Alton; Patrick Dela Cruz, of Macedon; and Ciara Chelini and Hunter Larosa, of Williamson, were named to the fall 2017 dean’s list at Le Moyne College in Syracuse. To be eligible, students must earn a minimum 3.5 GPA.
Emma Kirbis, of Macedon, was named to the fall 2017 dean’s list at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. To be eligible, students must complete at least 12 credit hours and earn a minimum 3.4 GPA. Kirbis studies business administration and public relations.
