Wildlife Rockstars to visit Hope In Art Studio on Saturday.

CANANDAIGUA — Going to the Dogs, a month-long animal-themed art exhibit and silent auction at Hope In Art Studio to benefit Canandaigua Canine Campus, ends April 28.

But organizers say it isn’t winding down with a whimper.

A live appearance by Wildlife Rockstars, a Bridges for Brain Injury education outreach program featuring native and exotic animals, is planned for 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the studio, 144 Mill St.

Cash the lynx, wallaby Sydney, Elvis the lemur, and Boca, a small American alligator, are among the expected guests. Visitors may register for a chance for one of two free door prizes: a two-hour Wildlife Encounters child’s birthday party package (value $250); or a Hope In Art Studio “Families Create” class, in which each family member paints a canvas to fit together as one work (value $20 per family member).

The exhibit, with silent auction, remains open. Visitors can view and bid on original paintings (including Lesley Shakespeare-Brogan’s colored pencil portrait of Cash the lynx), prints, photographs, jewelry and more, plus cash raffles for over 50 items.

Visitors can vote on the People’s Choice Award for Best Artwork ($1 per vote is split between the winning artist and a dog park donation) and learn more about Canandaigua Canine Campus, the dog park’s Pet Memorial Rock Garden and Hope In Art Studio art classes.

The last chance to place bids on 47 animal-themed works by 27 area artists, including illustrator Nancy Lane, photographer Peter Blackwood, jewelry artisan Yvonne Cupolo, fiber artist Judi Cermak and printmaker Laura Wilder, will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 28. And an art sale special: Works without bids will be sold at half retail price on the show's last day only.

Hope In Art Studio hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
