Clyde-Savannah Central School District named Rachel Connor, a deputy with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, as its school resource officer for the 2018-19 school year.
Connor, a graduate of Clyde-Savannah High School, has worked at the sheriff’s office since 2006.
“School resource officers play an important role in each community, and I’m looking forward to working at the school I graduated from,” Connor said.
This marks the first year that the Clyde-Savannah CSD will have a SRO, who is responsible for overseeing student and staff safety throughout the district. The SRO will make safety-related presentations to students, staff and the school community throughout the year.
“Our top priority is to create a safe environment for our students and staff,” Superintendent Michael Hayden said. “We’re confident that Deputy Connor will provide a comforting presence to our community.”
