Lori is now asking for your help to find her birth mother.

Back in the summer of 1978, a baby known as Baby Lilac was left outside an apartment in Brighton only to be found by the woman inside.

The two are now back together.

The Brighton Police Department posted a picture of Judy McKeever and Baby Lilac, or Lori, as adults on Facebook.

In July of 1978, Judy found Lori crying inside a cardboard box outside her apartment on the corner of Highland Avenue and Lilac Drive.

Judy turned Lori over to social services where Lori was adopted by a family.

Police say Lori contacted them earlier this year believing she was Baby Lilac. Sure enough, it was her.

Lori is now asking for your help to find her birth mother. Messenger Post's news partner, News10NBC dug through their archives and found an old story with police about a call they got from a woman early on; they believed that caller was actually Lori's mother.

Another lead came in around that time with a possible name. An anonymous letter sent to the hospital stated the baby was Rachel Niccole Michalison.

Police never found the person who wrote it.

Anyone with information that can help Lori in her search is asked to call (585) 784-5101.
