Citizens Climate Lobby, a national nonpartisan organization combating climate change, is forming a local chapter. The group meets the third Thursday of each month. The next meeting will take place Thursday, Oct. 18, a 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canandaigua, 3024 Cooley Road. Anyone interested is invited to attend.
Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) empowers everyday citizens to become effective advocates for change. The organization advocates for a market-based, consumer friendly solution that has received support from the majority of economists and scientists. The approach focuses on “building positive, respectful relationships with lawmakers and building political will through various grassroot and grasstop activities,” according to CCL.
