Lyons Public Library, 122 Broad St., will offer its first sewing class for adults from 10 a.m. to noon on Oct. 27.
The sewing machines, provided by the Friends of the Library, will be set up for seven students to make a sweet dreams pillowcase. Jeanette Lake will demonstrate straight stitching and how to do a French seam to avoid raw edges.
Participants will need 3/4-yard of material, 1/3-yard of a coordinating fabric, thread and scissors meant for cutting material. The library has some extra supplies, but not fabric.
Registration is required for the free program. Parking is available in the back, accessible from Phelps Street near Town Hall.
