The music department at Newark High School, 625 Peirson Ave., will host its second Veterans Day concert at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 6.
The school’s salute to area veterans will start with patriotic music in the Auditorium by NHS bands and choirs, followed by a reception for veterans and their families in the Band Room.
Robert Humphrey, instrumental music teacher, will direct the Concert Band and the Wind Ensemble. Kate Flock, vocal music teacher, will direct the Mixed Choir and Chamber Choir.
The concert will open with the national anthem, and end with all performers and audience members participating in “God Bless America.”
“This is our second year of providing this event,” Humphrey said. “We hope to have a stirring success that will be gratifying for all involved as it was last year. We hope to have a packed house as we do our small part to honor those who have provided us the freedom to choose who we honor.”
Veterans interested in attending the reception should contact Humphrey at or (315) 332-3200, ext. 2251.
The Auditorium will open at 7 p.m. for the free concert.
