Ontario County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team trained by the FBI assisted in the day-long stand-off, along with multiple agencies from the surrounding area.

Deputies say a man barricaded himself inside a booby-trapped home in Yates County.

After a more than a nine-hour stand-off, he was found dead. Deputies came to arrest the man for missing a court date for psychiatric treatment.

It started at a home on Bossard Road in Barrington around 7 a.m. Monday. The barricaded door had to be forcibly breached by the Ontario County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team requested as mutual aid from Yates County Sheriff. The ERT used special FBI equipment. While the ERT members were searching the house with assistance of a robot, it appeared the man rigged a gasoline fire to start that spread rapidly which drove the ERT members out of the house.

Multiple fire departments, guarded by the ERT deputies extinguished the fire.

Deputies found the man dead inside a room around 4:30 p.m. They believe he shot himself.

The man's name has not been released.
