The holidays are fast approaching, and the Wayne County Department of Aging and Youth is extending an invitation to community seniors for Christmas dinner.
To be eligible for the meal at a suggested $3, diners must be ages 60 or older, the spouse of someone ages 60 or older and attending the meal with them, an adult disabled child living with a parent ages 60 or older and attending the meal with them, or the caretaker/aide for a person ages 60 or older who needs their assistance to eat the meal.
Anyone younger than 60 who does not meet the stated eligibility guidelines must pay full cost for the meal, which is $4.10.
Reservations are required by noon on Dec. 7. Christmas dinner will be served at the Lunch Club 60 centers on Dec. 20.
The menu is ham with raisin sauce, sweet potatoes, mixed vegetables, fruit salad, a roll, cheesecake, and a choice of 2 percent or skim milk.
