New Vision medical program welcomes Class of 2019

The New Vision Medical Careers program at the Finger Lakes Technical and Career Center announced its Class of 2019.

The one-year program is open to high school seniors planning to major in pre-medicine, nursing, laboratory science, physician assistant, chemistry, biology, physical therapy or other allied health fields in college.

This year’s class has 17 students: Jaclyn Bell, of Bloomfield High School; Sarah Bernard, Joey Brinza, Taylor Giroux and Adam Novak, of Canandaigua Academy; Sophia DelPapa and Kara Jones, of Midlakes High School; Kenya Backman-Lowe, Morgan Ellis, Jordan Howell, Sarah Kohberger, William Reese and Louis Smit, of Mynderse Academy; Peyton Comfort, Brady Logan and Matthew Moniot, of Penn Yan Academy; and Riley Corey, of Waterloo High School.

Students gain hours of clinical experience and college credit while rotating through 24 departments. Each will have 95 mentors throughout the year and will interact with more than 100 patients.
