While Gov. Cuomo and the Democrat party cheered and celebrated loudly their passage of unfettered violence against the unborn in their Reproductive Health Act, state Christians kneel before God in tears and mourning.
Being a people of shared Christian faith with our Founding Fathers, we believe as they proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence that “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Like our Founding Fathers before us, we know the truth of God’s word as spoken in the Holy Bible as well as living proof of science regarding human life in the womb. A mother living in the 1700s could feel the “quickening” movements of her baby as early as 13 weeks old. Today, in addition to that, we see the ultrasound picture of a human baby growing in our womb; we marvel over its likeness to the newborn we hold in our arms. It is undeniable that the miraculous fruitful union of both mother and father results in a living unique human being like no other on the face of the planet. We agree with and applaud John Witherspoon’s (a signer of the Declaration of Independence) acknowledgement, “Some nations have given parents the power of life and death over their children. But here in America, we have denied the power of life and death to parents.”
Just as Christians centuries before us, New York Christians’ hearts marvel and our souls praise God over the truth of King David’s Psalm 139 written circa 1048 B.C.: “… Thou did form my inward parts; Thou did weave me in my mother’s womb … Wonderful are thy works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from thee when I was made in secret … Thine eyes have seen my unformed substance. And in thy book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.”
Our Founding Fathers rejected the regressive secular views of old Europe. Likewise, we reject the Democratic Party’s regressive secular views of today. Human life is made in the image of God and formed by him, not by human hands. Therefore, no human should be allowed to be the property of another human. The Democrat Party fought long and hard to keep Africans as slaves on their plantations. They rejected God’s truth, that we are “one blood.” They made evil laws that categorized those poor human souls as “subhuman,” mere property to be used for their benefit and disposed of at will. America’s Democratic Party has learned nothing about the sanctity of human life since their entrenchment in the business of slavery. They just traded it for entrenchment in the business of abortion. The promise of profit is just too alluring. They continue to reject an incorruptible holy creator god for their corrupt “god” selves.
Gov. Cuomo and the Democratic Party’s celebration of the passing of the Reproductive “Health” Act is no more moral than, and just as evil as, the Nazi party’s “hygiene” laws passed in Germany to dispose of “unwanted” human life that they too chose to designate “subhuman.” All moral people need to stand against this evil. Just like slavery, it should have no place in America.
