Deputies say there's a possibility it's a fugitive missing since last July

MOUNT MORRIS — A decomposed body was found in Mt. Morris Friday afternoon.

Earlier Friday, Livingston County deputies along with the Mt. Morris Police Department began a large investigation in the area of Mill Street in the village.

Deputies say the body, which was unidentifiable as of Friday afternoon, was first discovered by a father and his children who were in the area.

Deputies could not confirm at this time if the body that was discovered was the fugitive considered armed and dangerous who has been missing since last July 18, but they say there is a possiblity.

David Clyde Morgan was last seen in the area of Route 63 in Geneseo after he was accused of pulling a gun on a Geneseo police officer.

After he fled the scene, a nationwide search ensued. Officials searched for Morgan for weeks, utilizing drones and helicopters, but he was never found.

At one point there was a tip that Morgan could have been in Mt. Morris.

According to a tweet sent out by the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, there is no immediate threat to the public but deputies are asking people to avoid the area at this time.
