Man arrested in the town of Canandaigua after deputies said he was driving impaired by drugs and found to have drugs and an illegal weapon.

A Macedon man was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday in the town of Canandaigua after deputies said he was driving impaired by drugs and found to have drugs and an illegal weapon.

Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies said Trevor J. Emerling, 19, was arrested after deputies found him operating a motor vehicle while his impaired by drugs. While out with Emerling, deputies said they found Emerling to have an illegal weapon and have a controlled substance.

Emerling was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon

He was arrested and taken to the Ontario County Jail where he was processed and released with appearance tickets and citations to a third party.

Emerling is due back in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
