Sue Wheaton from the town of Ontario Garden Club recently received a Book of Recognition Award from the 7th District Federated Garden Clubs of New York State.
This award recognizes Wheaton’s contributions to the garden club’s activities. Wheaton joined the club in 2007.
As noted in her award, “she is well known for her thoughtfulness in volunteering her truck to pick up and carry materials, and to the delight of fellow members she consistently brings the full gambit of extra tools for their use. For many years, she has provided her home (and husband’s woodworking skills) to prepare projects for a community ‘greenway,’ in addition to other fun member projects.
“She continuously volunteers to help set up for flower shows and plant sales, to print up and distribute flyers and posters, to clerk at shows, serve on committees, and send out regular reminders for club activities and affairs. She has a thorough knowledge of and shares club precedents as occasions arise. Her enthusiasm for and devotion to the garden club is unsurpassed.”
