Sodus Community Health recently opened its new health center at 6341 Ridge Road, next to Reed Eye Associates.
The number of medical and dental patients served at the Middle Road location increased over the years, making an expanded center necessary with double the number of exam rooms. The new facility will allow Sodus to accept more patients.
Sodus Community Health offers telehealth consultations that connect patients with out-of-area specialists and financial advocates to help with New York State of Health Marketplace insurance.
“Sodus Community Health was our first health center and we continue our commitment to this community,” said Mary Zelazny, CEO of Finger Lakes Community Health. “We’ve invested in this spectacular new, all-in-one health center for medical, dental, reproductive health and behavioral health services.”
The lead physician is Robert Shelly, who joined the health center in 2010. He is board certified in pediatrics and internal medicine. Also in Sodus is Rachel Long, who is board certified in family medicine. Both are fluent in Spanish. The dentists are Anthony Mendicino, dental director, and Christopher Lehfeldt.
Sodus Community Health is celebrating Health Center Week with an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 8. Healthy snacks and refreshments will be served.
