Festivities Saturday in Naples will raise funds to help area families meet expenses for battling cancer and facing end-of-life care.
The Naples Rotary Club will hold it third-annual Walk of Life fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 10. The day will be filled with multiple events to benefit Hospeace House in Naples and the Margery Coughlin Pawluk Cancer Foundation at the Sands Cancer Center in Canandaigua. Over the past two years the event has raised over $32,000 for the two causes; the funds help hundreds of patients, clients and their families with expenses incurred while battling cancer and in facing end-of-life care.
Events will begin at 8 a.m. with a 5K/3K Fun Run at the Naples Community Park on Route 245, Naples; suggested donation is $15/adult, $10/student, $25/family. Sponsored by Lynnie Lou’s Ice Cream. Noon at the Memorial Town Hall there will be a Chicken BBQ. Tickets are available from a Naples Rotary Club member for $10. From noon to 9 p.m. at Naples Memorial Town Hall on North Main Street event will include food, silent auctions, live Music, petting zoo, bake sales, dog parade, raffles, bounce house and more. Opening and closing ceremonies will honor loved ones with lit luminaries and other recognition.
Dog parade will include prizes in multiple award categories; costumes and tricks welcomed but not necessary. Registration begins at 1 p.m. at the Town Hall.
