Ontario resident joins local accounting firm

Drake Miller, of Ontario, recently joined Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. LLP in Rochester as a staff accountant.

Miller will maintain financial reports, records and ledgers; prepare and analyze budgets; and perform general bookkeeping.

He most recently was a tax intern at Insero & Co. CPA LLC. Miller earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the College at Brockport.

 

Clyde officer promoted to lieutenant

James Miller, of Clyde, recently was promoted to lieutenant with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Miller, an 18-year veteran of the jail facility, previously worked as a corrections officer and sergeant.

He will be in charge of the safety, security and good working order of the Wayne County Jail. This includes the supervision of the sergeant supervisory staff, as well as employees, visitors and those taken into custody at the Sheriff’s Office.

Miller has an associate degree in liberal arts and applied science from Cayuga Community College.

 

Pultneyville resident joins Reliant committee

Reliant Community Credit Union recently appointed Justin Sokolowski, of Pultneyville, to serve on the advisory committee of its board of directors as an associate director.

Associate directors provide additional insight from the board’s membership and perspective on the direction of the credit union. The board consists of member volunteers.

Sokolowski holds a bachelor’s in biology from Colgate University and a master’s in international relations from Johns Hopkins University. His background is in financial services, most recently in hedge funds and private equity. He started his career working for a credit union as a teller, then a commercial lender, risk manager and derivatives trader.
