The village of Palmyra will celebrate its 52nd annual Canaltown Days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 14 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 15 on Main Street (state Route 31).
The weekend features food, live music, crafts, a market square, a 5K run/walk on Sept. 15, canal walks, museum tours, an art show, wagon rides and pony rides.
The annual car show will start at 11 a.m. on Sept. 14, or Sept. 15 if it rains. The Grand Parade on Main Street will step off at 4 p.m. on Sept. 14.
The National Park Service and Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor Commission have recognized Palmyra, known as the “Queen of the Canal Towns,” three times for excellence.
Free parking is available at the Wayne County Fairgrounds on West Foster Street. Free shuttle services will run each day between the Fairgrounds and Main Street. Special accommodation parking is on the east side of Canandaigua Street (state Route 21) from Main Street to Jackson Street.
