The Wayne County Department of Aging and Youth recently hosted its second annual senior dance at Rochester Regional Health’s ElderONE facility in Newark.
Despite happening the first weekend after Labor Day, seniors ages 55 and older embraced the “Endless Summer” party theme and danced the night away with friends old and new.
“That’s what it’s all about — making people feel good, and motivating people to get up and move,” said Ruth Dumas, who attended both dances.
The dance also was supported by the Arc of Wayne and Wayne County Action Program. These organizations, as well as the Aging Department and ElderONE, seek to help local seniors live healthy and fulfilling lives.
