SODUS — A Sodus resident faces a charge of first-degree criminal sex act after, according to Wayne County deputies, he is alleged to have engaged in oral sex with a 10-year-old girl in his care.

Robert J. Olmstead, 51, of the Town of Sodus, was charged Wednesday, Sept. 25, after an investigation was initiated in November 2018 by Wayne County Child Protective Services. According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Olmstead is accused of engaging in the sexual contact with a girl he was caring for in July 2012.

Olmstead was arrested and taken to the Wayne County Jail for arraignment.
