Wayne County Clerk Mike Jankowski and Sheriff Barry Virts recently announced two public meetings intended to help answer questions and lessen uncertainty regarding the pistol permit process in New York.
“Pistol permit ownership and recertification is a complicated and confusing responsibility for Wayne County pistol permit holders,” Jankowski said. “These sessions are an attempt to make this process as easy as possible and avoid future problems.”
Meetings are slated for 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 29 at Butler Town Hall, 4576 Butler Center Road, and Nov. 13 at Macedon Town Hall, 32 W. Main St. Each session will include a short presentation on current legislation and Q&A with the audience.
“The county clerk and I feel it is important to make ourselves available to assist pistol permit holders and other citizens to answer questions and help them avoid future complications or the loss of their pistol permit license,” Virts said.
