Wayne County clerk and sheriff hold public meetings to explain state regulations regarding firearms
Two information sessions will answer questions about pistol permits and other state regulations regarding firearms. Wayne County Clerk Mike Jankowski and Sheriff Barry Virts announced the the public is invited to attend the Pistol Permit Recertification Information Meetings taking place in Wayne County on Oct. 29 and Nov. 13.
The meetings are to help answer questions and lessen uncertainty regarding the pistol permit process in New York. There will be a short presentation on current legislation followed by questions and answers from the audience.
“Pistol Permit ownership and re-certification is a complicated and confusing responsibility for Wayne County pistol permit holders. These sessions are an attempt to make this process as easy as possible and avoid future problems,” stated Jankowski. “The county clerk and I feel it is important to make ourselves available to assist pistol permit holders and other citizens to answer questions and help them to avoid future complications or the loss of their pistol permit license,” stated the sheriff.
The scheduled information sessions are as follows, with both beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Butler Town Hall, Tuesday, Oct. 29
Macedon Town Hall, Wednesday, Nov. 13.
