The New York State School Boards Association recognizes School Board Recognition Week in October to promote awareness and understanding of the work performed by school board members.
Wayne Central School District joined all public school districts across the state to honor local board members for their commitment to the children they serve.
School board members study education issues and regulations to create a shared vision for the future of education, set the direction of the school district, provide accountability for student achievement results, develop a budget that aligns district resources and support a healthy school district culture.
This year’s board members are President Steve Gallaher, Vice President Jennifer Schoene, Dennis Landry, Ron Miller, Pamela Pendleton, Kim Phillips, Carrie Resch, Abigail Schmitt and Daniel Wildey.
