The Wayne Central School District observed National School Bus Safety Week at the end of October.
“National School Bus Safety Week is a great way for school administrators, bus drivers, parents, students, teachers and motorists to join together to stress the importance of school bus safety,” said Fred Prince, director of transportation.
This year’s theme was “My School Bus: The Safest Form of Transportation!” Before driving a bus for Wayne Central, drivers receive training in driving, mirror adjustments, weather emergencies, EpiPen hands-on training, diversity, dignity for all students and district policy.
Prince said Wayne Central bus drivers chose this line of work because they care about the children at Wayne and enjoy what they do.
