Wayne Central students recently returned from Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, after participating in the Disney Performing Arts program.
Students participated in a private workshop at the Saratoga Performance Hall, where they learned about “Characteristics” from Disney cast members. Students learned the necessary skills to pursue a career as a Disney performer, including being quick, focused, awesome, friendly and flexible. They created vocal recordings that Disney cast members integrated into a video to show how the animation process works.
Students performed for family, friends and resort guests from around the world at the Marketplace Stage in Disney Springs under the direction of Kathy Perconti, who has taught music at Wayne Central High School for 13 years.
