Webster Central School District on Saturday announced it had notified the Webster Police of a specific Snapchat post that raised concern.
Webster Police announced the arrest of a Webster student for making a terroristic threat. Police arrested Bernardo Melendez Jr., 18, of Webster, with one count of making a terroristic threat.
On Saturday, Dec. 7 the Webster Central School District notified the Webster Police of a specific Snapchat post that raised concern. After investigating, the police linked the post back to Melendez. Melendez is currently a student at Webster Schroeder High School.
Police say that this was found to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the staff or students at Webster Schroeder High School. "All threats are taken seriously by both the Webster School District and the Webster Police Department," Webster Police Chief Joseph Rieger said. "All threats will be fully investigated, and those responsible will be prosecuted."
Melendez was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Webster Town Court on Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. This is a developing story check back for updates.
