The Palmyra-Macedon Select Choir will hold its 10th annual Jolly Roger 5K virtually this year.
Participants can support the choir by running, jogging or walking a 5K (3.1 miles) anytime, anywhere. Registration costs $30 and 5K times must be entered between Aug. 1-8 to be eligible for medals. Awards will go to the overall and age-group winners.
To register, visit runsignup.com and search “Jolly Roger 5K.”
Proceeds from this annual fundraiser go to the 32-member Select Choir directed by Jill Davis. Funds are used to support the ensemble’s domestic and international travel, as well local performance opportunities.
Students have performed in Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago, plus two appearances at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Internationally, students performed in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England, Scotland, Wales, Greece and Italy. The choir will return to Carnegie Hall in January 2021.
The first 150 participants registered will earn a Jolly Roger 5K commemorative 10th anniversary T-shirt. All finishers with a recorded time will receive a 10th anniversary pirate-themed medal. Runners can opt out of these items if they want more of their registration fee to support the choir.
All ability levels are welcome. Runners from all states and countries are encouraged to join.
