Lyons man faces arson, endangerment charges
A Lyons man is facing arson and other charges.
Jeffrey T. Campbell, 32, of Geneva Street, was charged Friday with second-degree arson, first-degree reckless endangerment and fourth-degree criminal mischief, according to Wayne County sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies were called to investigate an incident at a Montezuma Street address where Campbell was observed by witnesses pouring gasoline down the stairwell entrance to a residence that was occupied by several people, deputies said.
Deputies said Campbell ignited the gasoline and fled on foot. As witnesses extinguished the flames, Campbell returned, poured more gasoline, reignited the stairwell, and again fled on foot, deputies said.
State troopers and deputies in the area found Campbell, who was taken to the Wayne County Jail.
