NYDOH approves quicker COVID-19 pool testing on SUNY campuses
The state is approving a quicker way to get pool testing done as college students are back in class.
The Department of Health approved a new saliva pool test from SUNY Upstate.
In the past, if any results from pool testing came back positive the entire group would need to be tested again. The new tests would allow labs to isolate individuals’ test results.
Currently, the test is only approved for SUNY campuses, but upstate is working to get federal approval so the tests can be used on all campuses.
